Vodafone announces £23 million network investment across Birmingham
Vodafone UK has announced a major network investment across Birmingham, bringing stronger indoor and outdoor coverage and mobile internet services across its 3G and 4G networks.
The upgrade forms part of Vodafone’s £2bn nationwide network and service investment program, running across 2014 and 2015.
New 4G+ technoloy offers even faster speeds!
The news comes as Vodafone UK begins to roll-out new technology in the city which will help boost customers with existing 4G mobile service by allowing more users to experience ultra-fast speeds. The new 4G+ technology, allows Vodafone to combine its unique portfolio of radio spectrum to provide higher average speeds to more simultaneous users, including indoors where around 70 per cent of customers use their mobile device most. The technology is also ideally suited to smaller geographical areas of high population density, such as city centres.

Vodafone has also been strengthening its 3G network across the city, providing a stronger indoor and outdoor signal, greater coverage, crystal-clear HD calls on voice calls and faster mobile internet services to more consumers and businesses. The company predicts the investment will extend 3G and 4G mobile coverage to more than 98% of the city’s population.
