Who loves IOS WiFi Assist?
Apple benefit or issue?
On paper, the new feature by Apple seemed great! WiFi assist, as the new feature is called is a new feature of iOS 9, bringing the best possible network signal to customers. If the WiFi signal is poor, and the mobile signal is stronger, the phone will switch over to the cellular signal automatically, providing a seamless experience for the user. Great if you you like to walk straight out of the house while skyping someone!
When this happens it means that mobile data is used rather than data over WiFi. Although this is a great feature, as it is turned on by default, depending on your data plan this may cause issues!
Many business are reporting staff consuming their entire data allowance due to believing they were still using WI-FI when their home broadband went down. Th streaming service they were using at the time continued to consume their own data allowance.
To switch this off, all you need to do is go to the following settings option.
